We tackled in the previous article the issue of commitment and the character of the committed person that he is reliable and trustworthy. He is also a hard worker who does his job honestly with a willpower that challenges failures.
A committed person understands his commitments toward other people. He doesn’t cease his good deeds not for the sake of a personal interest, but rather for his belief in humanity.
It came to pass that sometime in the past it happened that there was a hole at the bridge beneath the bars of trains that could end up causing the train to fall of the bridge. The hold developed to be a huge gap posing a great threat. A driver has noticed that gap and he reported it before the arrival time of the next train. As a result, the trains stopped already before reaching the bridge. The drive held the responsibility to report that incident as he appreciated his commitment toward his brethrens in humanity.
A committed person would also acknowledge the importance of his mission. He adopts a positive attitude toward his work without waiting to be asked about it. There a story about a widower whose wife who was so sick and died due to the roughness of the road and the inaccessibility of means of transportation. Despite his wife’s death, he asked the government to dig a tunnel inside the mountain in order to connect the village with the main town. When there was no answer from the government, he decided to do it himself to end this misery that may cause the death of other villagers. He brought an axe and a pick and dig in the rock using his bare hands. Nevertheless, he was ridiculed by other villagers and some call him insane. He continued to carry out that mission for nearly 22 year, from 1960-1982.He never stopped working for even one day; he didn’t own anything but a pick, an axe, and a deep commitment till he was able to do that miracle. He managed to dig 110 meters deep in the mountain, 9 meters wide and 7 meters height. How great this man was, he opened a route for the children to go to school, ambulances to reach each person and facilitations were made accessible to the whole village as the distance between the village and the city has become 6 km instead of 70 km. The destiny of the whole village was changed due to this man’s commitment. What if most of us did the same and adhered to our commitment toward humanity? Some people fail due to lack of commitment not ability. Keep on working diligently and never let the chance to despair to prevail.
